She isn't the only person investigating; Lara's parents have employed a lawyer to look into the case. As the series progresses it becomes apparent there are a lot of very unpleasant things going on; a pair of boys are posting videos of girls having sex onto the internet, a ballet teacher who bullies his students and gives them drugs, an adoptive father who clearly has something to hide and some young men who are getting teenage girls hooked on drugs before forcing them into prostitution.
